We're Gonna Be Friends

fall is here, hear the yell
back to school, ring the bell
brand new shoes, walking blues
climb the fence, book and pens
i can tell that we are gonna be friends
i can tell that we are gonna be friends

walk with me, suzy lee
through the park, by the tree
we will rest upon the ground
and look at all the bugs we've found
safely walk to school
without a sound
safely walk to school
without a sound

well here we are, no one else
we walked to school all by ourselves
there's dirt on our uniforms
from chasing all the ants and worms
we clean up and now it's time to learn
we clean up and now it's time to learn

numbers, letters, learn to spell
nouns, and books, and show and tell
playtime we will throw the ball
back to class, through the hall
teacher marks our height against the wall
teacher marks our height against the wall

we don't notice any time pass
we don't notice anything
we sit side by side in every class
teacher thinks that i sound funny
but she likes the way you sing

tonight i'll dream while i'm in bed
when silly thoughts go through my head
about the bugs and alphabet
when i wake tomorrow i'll bet
that you and i will walk together again
i can tell that we
are going to be friends
yes, i can tell that we
are going to be friends

Paradise Found

the problem with paradise is that it never lasts. imagine your partner doing naughty things to you while your lower half is submerged underwater. sooner or later, he will have to come up for air. all good things end. -- my friend, on a bike

Uncle Eddie

my uncle ed has a lotus museum in Salt Lake City. He's eccentric and he's awesome and he had polio as a child, hence the small right arm. he moved to brazil when he was in his late 20's and married a gorgeous brazillian woman. she's a professor of anthropology or a doctor or something like that. they had 2 kids after they moved back to the u.s. he's really cool and he takes care of my ailing grandmother who is totally crazy, which is even better. its funny how he has only one good arm/leg and yet he collects/drives/races exotic and foreign cars. he's awesome. he also collects money.

Vintage photos rock!

Remember Bob's Big Boy? We used to go and enjoy their burgers every so often as kids. I used to have a Bob's Big Boy bank to keep my money in.

Ahh the sweet halloween costumes of yesteryear. I think being a pirate should regain it's popularity.

Vintage photos are fun. So Nostalgic.

Reader Meet Author

You don’t know a thing about their lives
They live where you wouldn’t dare to drive
You shake as you think of how they sleep
But you write as if you all lie side by side

Reader, meet author
With the hope of hearing sense
But you may be feeling let down
By the words of defense
He says no-one ever sees me when I cry

You don’t know a thing about their lives
Books don’t save them, books aren’t stanley knives
And if a fight broke out here tonight
You’d be the first away, because you’re that type
And the year 2000 won’t change anyone here
As each fabled promise flies so fast
You’ll swear it was never there

Oh, have you ever escaped from a shipwrecked life?
So safely with your software, miles from the front line
You hear the way their sad voice sings, and you start to imagine things
Oh, any excuse to write more lies

Dress Up In You

I'm the singer, I'm the singer in the band
You're the loser, I won't dismiss you out of hand
Cos you've got a beautiful faith
It will take you places

You kept running
You've got money, you've got fame
Every morning I see your picture from the train
Now you're an actress!
So says your résumé
You're made of card
You couldn't act your way out of a paper bag

You got lucky, you ain't talking to me now
Little Miss Plucky
Pluck your eyebrows for the crowd
Get on the airplane
You give me stomach pain
I wish that you were here
We would have had a lot to talk about

We had a deal there
We nearly signed it with our blood…
An understanding
I thought that you would keep your word
I'm disappointed
I'm aggravated
It's a fault I have, I know
When things don't go my way I have to

Blow up in the face of my rivals
I swear and I rant, I make quite an arrival
The men are surprised by the language
They act so discreet, they are hypocrites so fuck them too!

I always loved you
You always had a lot of style
I'd hate to see you on the pile
Of ‘nearly-made-it' s
You've got the essence, dear
If I could have a second skin
I'd probably dress up in you

You're a star now, I am fixing people's nails
I'm knitting jumpers, I'm working after hours
I've got a boyfriend, I've got a feeling that he's seeing someone else
He always had a thing for you as well

Blow in the face of my rivals
I swear and I rant, I make quite an arrival
The men are surprised by the language
They act so discreet, they are hypocrites forget them
So fuck them too

Renaissance Affair

Sweet relief calms me down
Makes me drown
Lost and found
Neighbours complain
Sheets are stained
Hotel shower
The best around

Spacing from
Paris to New York
Silver sunglasses
Silver phone
Connect us to someone
Who doesn't know
About these feelings we can't control

People they want us to fall down
But we won't ever
Touch the ground
'Cause we're perfectly balanced
We'll float around
'Til noone is near
Do you hear this sound

Spacing from
Paris to New York
Silver sunglasses
Silver phone
Connect us to someone
Who doesn't know
About these feelings we can't control

This strange feeling captures us
It generates this huge fuzz
I miss you all the time
I must face
I miss your touch and your embrace

i dig on people
who can write haiku, too bad
they're mostly gay...damn

today's my birthday...somebody write me a song.

Also, there's a new guy in our office, he dresses really well and speaks with a south american accent. Quite the savvy émigré, I must say.

Funny Little Frog

Honey lovin you is the greatest thing
I get to be myself and I get to sing
I get to play at being irresponsible
I come home late at night and I love your soul
I never forget you in my prayers
I never have a bad thing to report

You’re my picture on the wall
You’re my vision in the hall
You’re the one I’m talking to
When I get in from my work
You are my girl, and you don’t even know it
I am livin out the life of a poet
I am the jester in the ancient court
You’re the funny little frog in my throat

My eye sight’s fading, my hearing’s dim
I can’t get insured for the state I’m in
I’m a danger to myself I’ve been starting fights
At the party at the club on a Saturday night
But I don’t get disapproving from my girl
She gets the all highlights wrapped in pearls..

You’re my picture on the wall
You’re my vision in the hall
You’re the one I’m talking to
When I get in from my work
You are my girl, and you don’t even know it
I am livin out the life of a poet
I am the jester in the ancient court
You’re the funny little frog in my throat

I had a conversation with you at night
It’s a little one sided but that’s allright
I tell you in the kitchen about my day
You sit on the bed in the dark changing places
With the ghost that was there before you came
You’ve come to save my life again

I don’t dare to touch your hand
I don’t dare to think of you
In a physical way
And I don’t know how you smell
You are the cover of my magazine
You’re my fashion tip, a living museum
I’d pay to visit you on rainy Sundays
I’ll maybe tell you all about it someday

We are the sleepyheads

Tired like the beggar with the cold inside his bones
Looking for the pleasure that he knew was so far gone
So far gone
I took a turn to myself
And I was surprised, cause I saw everyone who ever I had loved
I felt a whole lot better after that

People look at us and they think were doing fine
People look at us cause they see us all the time
All the time
But they never take to us
We've been in this town so long we may as well be dead
So long as people turn their heads
And cross the street whenever we walk on by

Someone told the truth when it really mattered most
The beauty of the moment is the beauty sadly lost
Sadly lost
So I went around to your house
Over tea and gin we talked about the things we read
In Luke and John the things he said

We're always mourning, we are the sleepyheads

Baby

Come quickly. The next 14 weeks will drag. I can't wait to hold you.

I Love Prophet MUHAMMED

I Kiss You!

I NEED a little Phatty...NEED people. Also, I love Mozart, have since I was little. I'd listen to Beach Boys, Bee Gees, the Beatles (wow, lots of B's) and Mozart. I lived in So Cal and my dad was a beatnik. Mom was in school getting a masters in Musicology. I was very tan and blonde, and I loved Mozart and was not ashamed.

Synthesizers, Theremins and Little Phatty's

Oooh, the sound of synthesizers and theremins. Bringing electricity to life via sound. How much fun to hear spacey sounds that float your thoughts off into the ether? Did you know moog just came out with a new synth themselves? It's called the Little Phatty and looks freakin sweet. It does less then their full fledged voyager but also costs less.

I want me a Little Phatty. :)
